Reimbursement Calculator: Get Reimbursed for Lost Amazon Inventory
Published: January 2025
Amazon sometimes loses or damages inventory in fulfillment centers. When this happens, you're entitled to reimbursement. Our Reimbursement Calculator helps you calculate how much you should receive.
When Does Amazon Reimburse?
Amazon reimburses for:
- Lost inventory: Items that go missing in fulfillment centers
- Damaged inventory: Items damaged by Amazon during handling
- Customer returns not returned: Returns that never make it back
How Much Will Amazon Reimburse?
Amazon reimburses the selling price minus fees:
Reimbursement = Selling Price - Referral Fee - FBA Fee
You receive the net amount you would have received from a sale.
Real-World Example
Let's say Amazon loses 5 units of your product:
- Selling price: $29.99
- Category: Home & Kitchen (15% referral)
- FBA fee: $3.22
Per unit reimbursement:
- Selling price: $29.99
- Referral fee (15%): -$4.50
- FBA fee: -$3.22
- Reimbursement: $22.27 per unit
Total for 5 units: $111.35
